Minilyptus, 2 years old. After 8 months in the ground and being heavily fertilised with gradual release NPK 8-24-16 granular mix at planting hole and regularly watered during the worst of summer heat it has put 2.5 meters of horizontal growth and 1 meter of height in just one growing season, making it a nice semi-prostrate architectural plant for Atlantic gardens. Special pruning was performed to encourage mallee growth habit and temporary staking to encourage an even spread horizontal growth. |
This strain has been selected for the reduced size of its silvery powdered round shaped leaves, making an impressive effect due to their compact insertion on branchlets. Prolific flowerer from an early age, its buds develop during spring and summer and bloom during early autumn, attracting bees and other pollinators to the garden. Regular pruning is essential to control plant size and shape and match garden design expectations in further growth seasons. |
